Tran Truong is the Program Director for the Princess Margaret Data Science Program and the Project Director for Electronic Data Capture Solutions at the TECHNA Institute. She received her bachelors in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo with a specialization in Computer Science and has recently completed her Masters in Health Sciences in Translational Research at the University of Toronto.
She has worked at UHN for over 17 years, in close collaboration with clinician scientists to develop innovative IT solutions to improve the quality of complex care and enable clinical research. She has extensive experience leading IT teams to develop, deploy and support many local, national and international IT initiatives. Tran’s area of focus is on the design and development of point-of-care tools to support clinical research, which include electronic clinical documentation, data workflow and integration, data modelling and health ontologies, patient-reported outcome systems, virtual care models and applied machine learning technologies.
