ESSENTIAL SOFTWARE FOR ONCOLOGY RESEARCH
Software for segmentation and genome annotation.
Biochemical techniques can measure various properties of a cell type across its entire genome. As the number of genome-wide properties is measured for a cell type grows, so does the difficulty of interpretation.
The Segway software provides a framework for segmentation and genome annotation, transforming multiple genome-wide datasets into a simple label for every region of the genome. The Segway model can handle missing data and analyze input at 1 base-pair resolution to avoid downsampling. The method traditionally has been used in labelling regions of gene regulation and has been used to produce datasets such as the Ensembl Regulatory Build. Segway was designed from the outset for external users in mind and includes extensive documentation on use and installation.
