UHN Tumour Model Tracker

Understanding the source of specimens and samples related to tumour model research, as well as the genetic match across samples and references at UHN has historically been challenging, with data often being stored across multiple systems.

Tumour Model Tracker allows information about the short tandem repeat (STR) results of both patient- and model-derived (organoid and xenograft) samples to be stored and viewed in one place. Genetic matches between samples and references are calculated automatically and can be updated dynamically, with information about the models also being stored. This allows users and other applications to search for tumour models associated with a research identifier. Users can search for tumour models, patient- and model-derived specimens, or studies producing tumour models and/or STR results, tracing back to the patient’s PPID or another model.
